Product Description
The LeafsOut Wide Gutter Protection System consists of three main components: a front anodized aluminum drip edge; a stainless steel V-Bend filter mesh; and a water siphon control strip under the mesh. This type of gutter guard can be installed on various gutter types such as Ogee, half round, fascia, curved, box and many type of roofs such as asphalt shingle, wood shake, flat tile, Spanish tile and stone coated steel. LeafsOut's specifications were uniquely designed so that it simply slips under the roof shingles and rests on top of the roof-deck/water-barrier (tar paper) to "clamp" the gutter guard in place and stabilize its structure. The solid aluminum front fits snug to the front lip of the gutter via three self-tapping screws for each four foot length section. LeafsOut should be installed at the same pitch as the roof (up to a 6/12 pitch) to get the best performance of debris shedding off.

Excellent sample
By Old phone user
Used this to check fit over the 6K gutters and it works well. I also experimented placing the grit and debris from the gutter onto the screen to see what would drop through. This larger size has slightly wider mesh but it still kept out the typical shingle grit. Only the tiny dust dropped through. When I ran the water across it, the rubber barrier caused the water to drip off the screen on the bottom side. The screen stiffness seems adequate to survive typical wear & abuse. Easy to install myself. I decided to order 12 of the 4 ft lengths to cover the gutter area I am most concerned with as an experiment for the next year and them buy more, if it performs well.
Update July 27: For normal rain fall quantity it continues to work fine. I need to clean the inside corners from the needles and bigger grit about once every 2 months during the winter. I have metal flashing in the valley where the roof slopes join (east/north), which speeds up the water flow for the two inside gutter corners. Heavy rainfall overshoots the screen in these two inside corners. I tried adding a small (1 inch tall by 12 long) flashing along the gutter edge to spread out the flow, but it is still too much flow for the cloud burst occasions. I ended up cutting out the 6 inch x 6 inch screen in the corner and using the open foam gutter for only these two inside corners. No more problems. In general the screen continues to work very well in all other areas. The gutters are staying clean.

Good Product

Tried the sample to make sure it would fit and install properly, and see if it would work for my application (excessive seeds). Looks like it will do the job.

LeafsOut Gutter Guard
By Mike
I have installed these on all my gutters. They work great with the exception of where they meet in a roof valley. They clog as with all others that I have tried. The roof valleys still need occassional cleaning. It is just a matter of brushing the debis off. The quality control on these are poor. Some are shipped pre-drilled and others are not drilled. The rigid aluminum extrusions are not evenly aligned from front to back causing irregular installations. Overall though, they are still the best I have found. I just cleaned my sister-in-laws expensive never clogging professional gutter guards. These work better.
