high maintenance
By ccaffrey
If your looking for a maintenance free gutter solution, these are not the answer. I had these on for several years and wound up on the roof several times a year for various reasons; screens tearing away after some time( mesh screen is cheaply glued to the plastic), spring debris from trees clogging downspouts, wind blowing sections off, etc. Overall, they did reduce the amount of times I had to go on the roof but I would rather pay more for something that works well.

AMERIMAX HOME 85470 GUTTER GUARD
By John Y,
This product is a good choice for a reasonable price and should last a long time. It is very easy to install and should keep the gutter leaf free. There are better products available, but the cost is double or more. John Y.

Good product. Easy installation.
By J. Caffarella
After seeing a small shrub growing out of my gutter, and realizing my existing gutter guards (which resembled plastic chicken wire) had failed, I installed Amerimax Gutter Guards around my home. This product installed easily onto the tops of my existing aluminum gutters. The only tools needed for installation are a pair of tin snips and a tape measure. I was concerned about this product being made entirely of PVC, which out of the box appears flimsy, but, working right to left, I trimmed 3" off the front right portion and overlapped the remaining tab on each section as specified in the instructions, adding significant rigidity. These guards have experienced a couple of heavy rainstorms with high winds since installation and are so far performing well. As of right now, the guards are securely clamped onto the lip of the gutter, but I expect the hold will loosen over time and require an exterior adhesive to keep them in place or replacement. They add a nice clean gutter line to the roofline, as opposed to the old unsightly guards which protruded above the gutters and trapped the twigs, leaves and debris. This is a good product for the money when compared to aluminum guards costing double or more, which are more labor-intesive to install as they require drilling and screws or rivets to secure them to your existing gutters. If you're looking for an inexpensive gutter solution, these gutter guards from Amerimax are a worth considering.
