Exactly what it looks like
By Robert Lee
I ordered one of these to see how it would work with my gutter drains which ended too close to my house. I am happy to report that it DOES extend to 53", a length I am quite satisfied with. It is a little difficult to open the accordian style tube, but that's a good thing, as it will hold any snaked position you create very well. A very good value. I purchased 4 more.

Great concept and execution
By The Podman
I purchased four of these items to replace the roll-up type gutter extensions which had collected leaves, dirt, deteriorated from UV light and generally quit on me after 3 years. This product is exceptionally easy to install. You can use sheet metal screws to attach (not included) to your downspout, but I simple slid the end over the pipe and flexed and stretched them where needed. They are composed of some pretty tough plastic, so they'll take a beating from a stray weedwacker. So far, they have performed flawlessly.

Misleading Product Description
By Bonnie Karrin
I was mislead by the description which claims that this extends 24" to 55". If you buy several of them it would extend like that, but buying only one (which costs quite a bit when shipping is added) there is NO way that it will stretch to more than 3 ft, certainly not over 4 feet as claimed.
It's too short, but does work, so to get the downspout water directed to where I need it to go, I'm going to my hardware store and buy 2 more. Without the shipping costs, it's still not cheap, but I am trying to avoid foundation damage so I have to bite the bullet.
